Konnor graduates to a "Big Boy Bed"

Lastnight we converted Konnor's crib into a "big boy bed" or a toddler bed. As Kevin and I were converting it, Konnor was so anxious to get in the bed. The mattress wasn't even in yet and he wanted to lay in it. He watched, even wanted to help.

He fell asleep without any fuss. We added a body pillow to the side and made she he was safe. We didn't hear a peep from him all through the night. When he woke up in the morning he got out of his bed and played in his room by himself!

Looks like it's a success!!!

PINKBERRY ROCKS!

I must admit...I only heard of the place on an episode of "The Hills". When I discovered we had one right here in Temecula I had to try it! It's odd that there's one located here, but I guess I should be glad! According to their website, they're located in West Hollywood area, Long Beach, NY and other areas in Los Angeles...then there's little old Temecula!

For months now I've been wanting to go. As many times as we've driven by (being that it's on the main road to the freeway), we never stopped. Well today we finally planned to go! After dinner at a new sushi restaurant in Murrieta, we went to PinkBerry!

Supposedly it's real frozen yogurt and it's HEALTHY! They offer fresh fruit toppings, candy and cereal toppings! You choose. Plain yogurt or green tea. Pick your size and pick your toppings! OH SO YUMMY! Kevin and Konnor loved it too!

1st Prenatal Appointment with NEW Dr.

I woke up this morning feeling a bit nauseous. I knew I had a few hours until my Dr. appointment later in the afternoon. Since it had been almost 5 days since I had left the house due to my inflammed achilles tendon and plain ol' fatigue and nausea..I decided to get out of the house early and run some errands.

My appointment was at 2pm. Unfortunately Kevin couldn't make it to the appointment. Konnor was a little terror in the waiting room. He would not keep still, kept pushing his stroller everywhere, bumping into the chairs and talking up a storm. Luckily the waiting room wasn't too crowded. Once we were called into a room, Konnor looked at everything. He kept pointing to the ultrasound monitor. He thought it was a TV! Dr. Anderson came in and did all the routine questions, check ups and then the ultrasound. Everything looked great! Baby's heartbeat was fluttering and yes...there was only ONE peanut in my tummy. He confirmed that!

I go back in 4 weeks for another appointment. I've already gained more weight than I did the first time. I guess that's normal since I haven't been vomitting and I definitely haven't been exercising since I've been extremely out of energy.

Konnor's 1st haircut

Ok, so we had to do it. After contemplating for awhile now, we decided it was time for those crazy curls of Konnor's to be tamed! We took Konnor to Buzz Bang Zoom, a kiddie salon right down the street from our house. He was excited to play with all the toys. He chose to sit in the airplane seat and watched The Goofy Movie while the lady started on his hair. He didn't like the sound or feel of the clippers. But once she gave him a lolipop, he forgot all about it. Of course we save a few locks of his hair. Once the lady was done with his cut, he looked like to new little boy! The curls were still there, but everything was just much neater. A before and after picture:

Afterwards Kevin, Konnor and I went to Diamond Valley Lake for a picnic lunch. It was nice to sit and relax and look out towards the lake. It was relaxin day off for Daddy!

1st prenatal appointment

I had my first prenatal appointment today with Dr. Im. He is so pleasant and sweet. After all the typical talk of medical history the Dr. recommended that he refer me to Dr. Anderson who is the "high risk" specialist for pregnancies. I had a feeling this would happen. Being that I've had high blood pressure prior to my first pregnancy and along with all the other complications I've had through my first pregnancy, it was the best thing. I've gained 4lbs and feel like I'm already showing! My back aches daily and I get light headed and dizzy throughout the day. I've been able to sleep fairly well. I've got my snoogle (total body) pillow out already! Totally helps me feel so cozy. Kevin hates it cause he can't sleep near me.

Once I got home I had to take a nap. Kevin was wonderful and took care of Konnor and cleaned house. I was nauseous all day long, still having dizzy spells and my heart is palpitating like crazy. Although when I check my blood pressure, it's fine. Still, Stage 1 hypertension....but what's new!?

Konnor has been very cooperative with Mommy not being able to tend to him all day long. He's great when it's nap time. He seems to be understanding and not asking me to pick him up too much. He loves just sitting on my lap with me though. Even when he's watching TV, he wants to sit in my lap. It's so cute how he moves my hands to make room for his little bottom. Even when he wants me to do something, he takes my hands and puts them on whatever he wants opened, or given to him. He's been doing such silly things lately. One of the cutest things is that when he sees food he says, "Mmmm". Whether it's on a TV commercial, someone else eating it, in the grocery store or a picture of it. You gotta hear him! He also has been a little devil and has been emptying out his toy boxes sitting in them. I caught him half way in his toy chest the other night! Night time has been great. Konnor has been going to bed right around 9pm. Still sleeping 11 hour straight and not crying at all when he awakes. I'm hoping it all stays this easy throughout the pregnancy.

Celebrating Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday since Kevin has to work tomorrow. We started our day heading to Palm Springs...the Desert Premium/Cabazon Outlets! Our favorite outlets! We went shopping. Afterwards we headed to Oak Glen to the apple orchards. We had a great time being in the mountains. The weather was as good a good can be and the fresh air was much needed. We went to 3 different orchards, bought cider and apples. At the last Orchard we bought a 5lb apple pie! YUM!

We headed home and were exhausted. We all took a nap and just relaxed. It was a long day for all of us!

A week's summary

It's been a long, and tiring week. I'm still having an extreme case of fatigue! Still no vomitting, but lots of nausea. I've also been having back aches, headaches, dizzines and sore breasts. I feel like I've been eating like a cow....but still no weight gain. WHEW! Though this weekend I feel like my belly just popped out!

Konnor's appetite has been a lot better. This week he ate spaghetti, lots of fruits, Honeycomb cereal, turkey, french bread and lots of fish. Thankfully he loves fish. We had salmon one night and halibut another night. Konnor has also been taking interest in learning to drink from a cup without a cover. I only give him water in the cup, but he's really doing good. Of course sometimes he misses his mouth, but for the most part he's getting the hang of it.

With the hot weather, Konnor's had more chances to play in the water and in his pool. Thursday we went to Sea World and I remembered to bring his shorts. He played in the spinkler area. He loved it. Although, he threw a fit when it was time to go home! He's also been spending a few hours in his pool at home as well as playing in the sprinkler. He's such water boy!

This week we also had a photo shoot with Wittle Bitz Photography, here in Murrieta. Konnor met his first set of twins! Owner, Brianna has 11month old boy twins who are so friendly and sweet. I think Konnor thought he was seeing double! He stared at the boys and giggled. The twins were entertained by Konnor. Konnor was acting silly and the boys thought it was so funny.

Busy Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend. Saturday morning/afternoon we spent the day at Sea World. Afterwards, we spent the rest of the day with Chris, Sherry and the kids. We finally told them the news and they were so excited. Actually, Chris didn't believe us. They couldn't believe we kept it from them, even after Chris and Kevin had talked all week long. :-) It's always great hanging out with them and catching up on our lives. The kids love playing together.

Sunday morning we went to breakfast together. We were all so hungry it seemed like we ordered EVERYTHING. After we parted, we went over to Kevin's parents house for awhile.

Konnor's has started this "diet" of his. Eat a lot, don't eat for 2 days, eat a lot, don't eat for 2 days. Is that normal?

He's enjoying music more and more everyday. He swings and sways everytime he hears music. He bounces up and down as he dances. It's so adorable!

May Day

Wow! It's May already! Time is flying. It just seems like yesterday, we celebrated Konnor's 1st birthday. And now he'll be 15 months at the end of May. Konnor has learned a lot of new things this past week. Aside from his normal whinning and tantrums, he's been starting the "seperation anxiety" a little more frequently. Nothing to the extreme. Just a few seconds longer of whinning when Mommy or Daddy is not in sight. But then he gets over it fairly quickly. He's finally become more interested in books. It was always hard for me to read a book to him because he was never interested in it long enough. But now, I'll find him in his closet (where his books are) and he'll sit and browse through them himself. Occasionally he'll bring a book to me and say, "Mom-Mom". That means he wants me to read it to him. And now he'll at least sit through half of the book! Konnor has also started to make more different noises with his mouth. He's saying "Ahhh BA" a lot. And lastly his most favorite thing to do is to take things out of drawers (my drawers, Daddy's drawers, his own..) and put them somewhere else! We call it "grab, stash and hide." He's been notorious for hiding things! Little devil.

The pregnancy so far is going well. No real symptoms still. Just frequent trips to the bathroom and LOTS of fatigue!! Boobs are starting to get tender, heavy and occasional sharp pains. I'm amazed that I haven't been having morning sickness yet. About this time with Konnor I was puking all day long, nauseous and just not keeping anything down.
