Another day at the Del Mar Fair 2008

Since Daddy didn't get to go with us to the Del Mar Fair last week, he had the day off and we went as a family. First thing on the list was to eat! Kevin wanted to taste the deep fried white castle burger! YUCK! Can you say....artery blocker?

I wanted to show Kevin how much fun Konnor has on the rides to so we headed to the Kid Zone. On the way we ran into the Chings and Carol. The kids enjoyed riding the rides together.

And of course...he had to do the extreme jump...again!

"Just like Daddy"

Konnor loves to copy Daddy. Here he is playing with his kitchen/bbq and pretending to bbq as Daddy often does.

Doodlebops OH YEAH!

Konnor's 2nd concert...Doodlebops! One of his all time favorites next to Hi-5. We missed them last year when they were in San Diego because it was the day of his birthday. So we couldn't miss them this year especially that they were at the Del Mar Fair for FREE with fair admission! Perfect! I made the boys tshirts with their names and Konnor had to bring his Rooney guitar that he got for Christmas from Uncle Ed and family.

Daddy had to work but we met with The Harrison's. The boys also enjoyed some of the kiddie rides after the concert. Konnor also took the plunge and went on the big trampoline.

Introducing the new Director of Culinary Operations at Sea World of San Diego

That's right! We're staying put...for awhile at least. After the layoff with Home Depot, Kevin landed his "dream job" back at Sea World as the Director of Culinary Operations. A big step and a great opportunity for him. He loves Sea World and has been a loyal employee for years now! Pretty much since he was 16 years old!

So thanks to the new job, we won't have to relocate anywhere else. Although he has a longer commute now, he's going to do GREAT!

Congratulations Sweetie!

Father's Day 2008

We spent the day at our friends Dorothy and Alfredo's house in Romoland, 15 minutes from our home. It was a hot day so we took the kids to the splash park and pool. This was Kameron's first experience in the pool and splash park. He LOVED it! Konnor of course, the water baby he is...enjoyed every bit of it too.

After swimming and being in sun for a few hours, we were all hungry! Dorothy and Alfredo cooked up a good dinner! We also had a small friendly game of poker afterwards. It's been years since we've played poker with friends in Arizona. Someone else was interested in poker too!

Kameron is 6 Months old!!!

At his 6 month appointment he weighed in at 22lbs, 27 1/2 inches. He's in the 75percentile for his height and 97percentile for his weight. His head is also big! His head is the same size as big brother Konnor's!

Kameron had to get 3 shots at this appointment. He's a trooper when it comes to getting shots though. Maybe it's the thick legs he has which gives extra cushion.

Dr. Boyatt had no other advice or tricks for me to get him to sleep better and through the night. She's very surprised that he's still eating as much as he's eating, but not sleeping through the night. The most he does is 4 hours. After that he's up every hour or two. I'm slowly starting to wean him for the nursing, but it seems to be the only thing that allows him to fall asleep. He does not self soothe. Basically I've become a "human pacifier". I've never had that problem with Konnor so I didn't know how to go about it all.

He's still a little piggie. He can drink 8oz every 2 hours and when he eats baby foods, he eats a whole jar! He never really liked the rice cereal, which I don't blame him. Konnor didn't enjoy it either.

He's still teething, though the two bottom teeth have been surfacing for months now. They should be breaking gum any day now. He's been very irritable and cranky with the teething. He's rolling over and trying to crawl more and more everyday. Poor kid...I think he's just so heavy for his own strength.

Disneyland 2008

Before Kevin started his new job at Sea World we wanted to do some quality family time. We had been talking about taking Konnor and Kameron to Disneyland so this seemed to be the perfect time!
We drove up the night before and got some well needed rest. We woke up bright and early and tried to make it to Disneyland when they opened at 8am. We ended up getting there at 8:30am. It was a good day. Not too hot, not too crowded.
