No more bottles!

Konnor is officially off the bottle! He hasn't really looked for it in the past few weeks, but we kinda just gave it to him. He's had an easy transition from bottle to sippy cups to using straws! We slowly stopped giving him a bottle and realized he had no problems. So last week we decided to see what would happen if we didn't give it to him. And luckily...everything went well. He's even starting to go to bed without a bottle or milk!

Late to the Playdate

With Konnor's growth spurt, he's been napping at different times now. And his naps are typically 2-3 hours long! Wondferful...except when we had planned to be at a playdate! We were an hour late! Konnor met a new friend at the playdate today at Winchester Park. Caitlyn. She's a total cutie! She too is half filipina and half white. She just turned 2. Konnor enjoyed playing (and eating) the sand today at the park. YUCK. He also played with Jack and Chase. He is such a boy now. Loves playing with trucks, getting dirty and being independent. Even the other Mommies were surprised to see how independent he has become.

Konnor's 1st Eggstravaganza

Today we celebrated Easter. We woke up bright and early to be at the Murrieta Eggstravaganza on time. Grandpa and Grandma McMaster also came up to celebrate with us. It was Konnor's first egg hunt! We had a pancake breakfast at the park, then played in the park and then the egg hunt began for Konnor's age group. We waited in line. Konnor just watched all the other kids with their baskets. He got the hang of it pretty quickly.

April Already?

It’s already April! It’s so tough to remember to take some time to blog or journal. Konnor has been so needy and active lately. It’s as though needs me in his sight. Many times he wants me to play with him or he’ll whine. He’s been good at whinning and throwing tantrums lately. It’s almost scary to think he could be starting his “terrible two’s” kind of early. I hope not. What I love so much lately though is when he says, “Mom-Mom” as he points to something he wants. Many times it’s food! LOL But he’ll say “Mom-Mom” almost with a questioned faced. It’s so adorable. And if I am not paying attention…he will be sure to keep at it to get my attention! He has also discovered his ears, nose and belly button. He likes to point to your nose, ears and belly button too.

"Da-Da"

Konnor has officially said “Da-Da” and meant it. Although he said it all day long. He has been saying “Ma-Mom” since about 10 ½ months. Daddy has been waiting anxiously for him to say “Da-Da”. When he said it, he was trying to wake Kevin up in bed. Kevin woke up in such surprise to hear it. It really made his day. I know how he must've felt because I felt it too. Any milestones and accomplishments Konnor reaches I feel so proud and happy for him. I'm so in love with him that no matter how little or big the special thing he does, says or learns just makes me the "Happiest Mommy on the Block!"

13 months!

Time is flying by! It seems like we just celebrated Konnor’s 1st birthday and here it is…already a month later. He’s becoming a character more everyday. He is so smart and really picks up on things quick. He loves to show you what an airplane does. He loves to hold his hand by his ear and pretend he’s on the phone. He walks all over the house constantly and talks! His eating habits are getting better. He’s eating (some) vegetables now. He still LOVES French fries and chicken nuggets. He’s also transitioning with the bottle. I’ve only been giving him a bottle in the morning and at night. I’m pretty sure I can go cold turkey with it and he’d be fine. He doesn’t like the sippy cup too much. He’d rather just use a straw.
I’ve been spending more time reading books with him. His attention spand is quite short so he doesn’t really allow me to finish a book! LOL His new thing…giving a “high five” versus just a five. LOL
He's now weighing: 23 lbs 8 oz and is 30 1/2 inches in height. He's become so active since he started cruising so the Dr. says he's still in the 95 percentile.

12 Month Milestones

I now have 8 teeth...2 more peeking through!

I'm NOT liking vegetables right now. I only like corn
I love going to Playdates with the Mommy's groups, Daycare at the Gym and to Child's Play (indoor park)
Mommy & Daddy are planning my 1st Birthday
I know how to "give hugs" & "give kisses"
I like to point to everything
I've taken over my Mommy's office space in the loft with all my toys
Mommy and Daddy always say, "My gosh you're getting too big and heavy!"
I can throw tantrums when I don't get my way
